“Reimagining The Fairmount Library”

Thanks to funding from the New York State Library, we brought many updates to FCL this year. The funding was part of the 2022 State Aid for Library Construction Program. The total cost of the Fairmount Community Library project totals $250,000.

What was formerly the circulation desk, is now an expanded lounge and workspace for patrons to enjoy.  Checkout desks have been moved to the top floor, and a new self-checkout is available.

The award from the state was approved for a new roof, new furniture and shelving throughout the library, as well as a redesign of three floors.

We are thrilled with the changes: a new, modern look to the children’s room and adult reading floor, as well as additional seating and meeting spaces on the main floor! The new library design comes from Vaysen Studios, a branch of Ashley-McGraw. Trade-Mark Construction  completed the construction project. The FCL team encourages community members to stop over for a visit.
